Adjunct ESOL Instructors (Non-Credit)
Accepting Applications for Academic Year, Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024
Adjunct Faculty in Community Education are part time instructors who provide instruction for non-credit courses. Adjunct faculty develop and deliver course content using high quality pedagogical techniques to ensure maximum student success and learning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare course syllabi and lessons that meet all contractual requirements.
- Ensure that classes meet for the allotted time on every scheduled meeting day during the semester.
- Employ effective instructional strategies that promote student learning.
- Monitor email communications from students and the college and respond in a timely manner, as appropriate.
- Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports and/or other administrative documentation as required.
- Works collaboratively with department staff.
- Focus on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.

Community Education instructors are part time instructors hired on an as needed basis. Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend positions and may be in Brockton, Canton, Middleborough, or any other instructional site.
Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the Community Education Department.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree and a minimum of two (2) years' classroom teaching experience. Advanced or special certifications or licensure may be substituted for the Master's degree.
- Ability to teach using technology

Preferred Qualifications:
- ESOL Teaching Certificate preferred
- Experience teaching ESOL adult learners strongly preferred
- Organizational skills
- MS Office computer skills
- The ability to work as a team with other staff members.

Position Status: Part-time, non-benefited, Community Education position
Semester: Academic Year Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024
Hours: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 - 9:00 pm
Salary: $35 per hour
Worksite: Brockton campus.
