This position is a dual responsibility that will (1) oversee GVSU's day-to-day operations at GVSU's Jackson College Central Campus in Jackson, MI, and (2) serve as a liaison between Jackson College and GVSU through gaining a core knowledge of its programs, services, and supports and advising students accordingly. This position will actively build out the center's recruitment, community engagement, academic programming efforts, in collaboration with GVSU's Offices of Graduate & Lifetime Learning, Admissions, Advising, and Academic Affairs, and concomitantly, build strong relationships with the Student Success Navigators at Jackson College to ensure an easy handoff of students matriculating to GVSU.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary: Minimum starting salary of $45,000, commensurate with experience.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of Jackson College and GVSU academic, co-curricular and extracurricular programming.
- Provide expertise and assistance for prospective and current GVSU students regarding transfer information, including equivalencies, transfer resources and scholarships, to include transfer to graduate-level programming.
- Organize and host recruitment and engagement events, such as Transfer Fairs, classroom visits, social events for current and prospective GVSU students, and community outreach.
- Work to ensure courses offered onsite at Jackson College's campus meet the needs of our undergraduate population - including course scheduling suggestions and faculty staffing facilitation.
- Facilitate appropriate connections between Jackson College (JC) students and GVSU/JC support resources.
- Work along with the appropriate Jackson College contacts to ensure processes and procedures are in place for students to make a seamless transition to GVSU.
- Collaborate with GVSU Admissions and GVSU Advising to assist in the recruitment and retention of prospective and current GVSU students (inquiry, general advising appointment, admission process, orientation, Financial Aid, satisfactory academic progress, course selection, etc.) utilizing GVSU systems (Banner, Slate, etc.).
- Hire, train and supervise work-study students employed in the GVSU at Jackson College Center.
- Coordinate virtual and in-person visitors from GVSU's main campus to ensure current and prospective students can connect with subject-matter experts in areas such as Career Service, Admissions, Financial Aid, Professional and Faculty Advisors, etc.
- Coordinate with the Jackson College Student Success Navigator Corps to ensure an easy transition for students who wish to attend GVSU.
- Provide Jackson College with any instructional transfer program changes in order to maintain a solid instructional pathway for students enrolling from Jackson College.
- Perform other duties as required/assigned by leadership.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of work experience in higher education (community college or 4-year institution).
- Strong customer service skills.
- Experience with various computer software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, etc).
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to GVSU's vision of diversity, inclusion, and equity.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and calendars simultaneously.
- Experience working under pressure, multi-task, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and work self-sufficiently with little direction when required.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional and collegial relationships with peers, customers, administrators, etc.
- Cooperative team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with faculty/staff of all levels throughout the university.
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, including some nights and weekends.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Master's degree.
- Prior or current relationship (alumni, staff, and faculty) with Jackson College and/or the Jackson, MI community.
- Experience working in admissions, academic advising, career services, or event planning.
