Job Summary


This is a short term summer lecturer contract/appointment for NON CREDIT bearing courses offered for ALL Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement Programs.

Dates of each program are listed below and course descriptions are listed by program are linked below.
  • Bridge Summer Program: June 1-26, 2026
  • PCDP Summer Program: June 7-26, 2026
  • Upward Bound Summer Program: June 7- July 17, 2026
  • Outreach (Mountain and Rural) Summer Program: June 7-19, 2026
  • Outreach Sport Summer Program: June 21-July 3, 2026

Who We Are


The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, in the Enrollment Management Division, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation and low-income students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programs.

These programs help support students academically and personally from middle school through high school and prepare them to transition successfully to postsecondary opportunities. Continuing to provide support to students that choose to attend the University of Colorado Boulder.


What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Attend the class(es) you were hired to teach and responsible for classroom management.
  • Plan and create a course syllabus
  • Maintain and track student grades and provide final grades for each student.
  • Create non grading duties for the Instructor's Assistant in the classroom.
  • Must attend required training, weekly staff meetings, and end of summer celebration.
  • Maintain active communication with Assistant Director of the program.


What You Should Know

  • Participants of our programs are primarily fist-generation college-going students, thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our student population.
  • This position does require you to teach in-person, and as an employee of the university you will be required to abide by university vaccination policies.
  • This is a temporary appointment with the university as a lecturer and does not qualify for university benefits.
  • We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).
  • The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide at no cost to the instructor course materials and printing.

The rate for this part-time, temporary summer appointment is $1100-$3900.

What We Require

  • Bachelor Degree or substitute with currently working toward Bachelor's Degree and experience working with precollege access programs through teaching, instruction, or lecture.


What You Will Need

  • Ability to create an inclusive environment for students and fellow staff.
  • Ability to travel to university and get around campus independently.
  • Ability to use classroom technology for class instruction.
  • Ability to support web-based software to deliver and provide course resources.
  • Communicate effectively with program directors with any program concerns.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
